Historic Milestones

In October 2009 FESTU hosted the 3^rd International Symposium for Railroad Universities in Europe and Asia, which gathered together representatives of transport universities and organizations from China, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Japan, Mongolia and Australia.

During the Symposium, the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian Pacific Countries was established. 12 transport universities and organizations from 6 countries are now members of the Association.

In May 2011 Nanjin Institute for Railway Technology hosted the 4^th International Symposium for Railroad Universities in Europe and Asia. Members of the Association had a meeting and officially signed the charter of the Association.

The 5^th International Symposium for Railroad Universities in Europe and Asia is planned for 2012. During the next meeting of the Association’s members participants will discuss some issues referring to the association activities.
